An intriguing Historical Mystery ,set in Panama in 1909,having a pinch of romance and much in historical accuracy. The story's James Holt has a history with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. A singular ,intelligent, and captivating story. The descriptions are bountiful and able to draw the reader into the story.

The book centers on mathematical models or algorithms and how they can affect a wide range of topics. These models can have a negative affect by encoding racism or other biases due to your zip code. The models create a feedback loop making vulnerable people even more at risk. This book is both accessible and entertaining as the author explains "Big Data" and how when used incorrectly or inappropriately will cause a toxic cycle.

    Mike Massimino
Mike Massimino was not your typical astronaut. A man who hated heights and roller coasters. Had the ability to score a 11 percent on his an engineering course midterm and also failed his Ph.D oral exam. However the man never gave up. Partly due to the support provided by NASA. This a concise combination of personal history and immersive storytelling. This book gives a new meaning to the phrase "the right stuff".
